Trustee Card Overview

Trustee Card Key features

• Virtual Visa card

  You get a virtual Visa prepaid card inside Trustee Plus for online purchases and payments in shops that accept Visa. You cannot order a physical card or withdraw ATM cash with the current version.

• Stablecoin card funding

  You load the card with USDC or USDT and pay a 0.5% load fee. You must swap other coins first, which can add a separate swap fee.

• Separate USD balance

  You spend from a dedicated USD card balance, separate from your Trustee Plus wallet. You must load the card before you can spend coins held in the wallet.

• Phone wallet payments

  You can add the virtual card to Apple Pay or Google Pay. Then you can tap your phone to pay in shops.

• No purchase fee

  Trustee charges 0% on card purchases, apart from the fee you pay when you load the card. For purchases in another currency, you pay at the Visa exchange rate; Trustee does not publish an extra FX markup for this card.

• No recurring fees

  You pay no monthly or annual card fee. Trustee also lists no inactivity fee.

• Paid virtual issuance

  The standard virtual card issue fee is $10, charged in USDC in published fee summaries. Check the fee in the app before you confirm.

• Prepaid spending limits

  Published limits are about $30,000 in monthly card transactions and $3,000 per load. You can hold about $5,000 on the card, but check the current limits in the app before you transfer funds.

• Optional auto top up

  You may be able to enable automatic loads when your card balance drops below a set level. Check availability in the app; you fund these loads from your Trustee Plus wallet, without a credit line.

• Points for spending

  You can earn Trustee Points through card spending and may qualify for seasonal leaderboard prizes. Trustee does not publish a guaranteed cashback percentage for every purchase.

• Custodial app balance

  UAB Trustee Global runs Trustee Plus as a custodial app, separate from the self custody Trustee Wallet app. You do not retain self custody of funds loaded onto the card.

• EEA access checks

  EEA residents can apply, subject to identity checks and country restrictions. Check eligibility inside Trustee Plus before you pay the issue fee.

Trustee Card Fees

• Issuance fee Virtual card issuance costs 10 USD, charged in USDC according to several writeups.
• Top-up fee Trustee charges 0.5 percent when you load USDC or USDT onto the card balance.
• Recurring fees Trustee charges 0 in monthly or annual card fees and 0 for inactivity.
• Purchase fee Trustee charges 0 percent on card purchases.
• FX rate Visa converts payments at its rate, and Trustee does not publish an extra FX markup for this card.

How to use Trustee Card

1. 1

   Create your account

   Download Trustee Plus from the official app store or publisher site and sign up with your phone number. Use Trustee Plus, the custodial app, rather than the separate Trustee Wallet app.

2. 2

   Verify your identity

   Complete the identity check with your ID and a selfie, and submit address documents if requested. Wait for approval and check card availability for your country inside the app before you pay an issue fee.

3. 3

   Issue your card

   Open the card section on the home screen, tap Issue card, and read the terms and current issue fee, published as 10 USD charged in USDC. Accept the terms and wait for virtual issuance to finish.

4. 4

   Fund your wallet

   Deposit USDC or USDT into your Trustee Plus wallet, using the same network shown on the deposit screen. If you hold another asset in the app, swap it into USDC or USDT first and check the swap fee before you confirm.

5. 5

   Load your card

   Open the card, choose Top up, and enter the amount, then review the 0.5 percent load fee and confirm. Wait until the separate card balance updates before you spend; coins left in the wallet are not available for card payments.

6. 6

   Make your first payment

   Use the virtual card details at an online checkout that accepts Visa, or add the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay and tap to pay in a store. Check that your card balance covers the payment.

  If you were thinking about trying a crypto card, this is actually a pretty good moment.
  
  Trustee Plus lets you open your first card for 10 $USDC, spend $50+ within 7 days, and get the 10 $USDC back.
  
  So basically the card can cost you 0 USDC.
  
  Simple promo, but honestly a nice way to test the card in real life without really paying for the issuance.

    Adding an extra login method to Trustee takes less than a minute and gives you another way to access your account when you need it.
