Stablecoin holders spend USDC or USDT at everyday shops while keys and unused balance stay in their own wallet.

COCA Card: Cashback, Fees, Stablecoins And Wirex Wallet
What is COCA card?
COCA Card is a self-custody crypto debit card that lets you spend USDC or USDT straight from your own wallet, with stablecoin cashback up to 8 percent and 0 percent advertised FX in supported countries.

COCA card Overview
COCA Card is a spending card built on top of a self custody wallet. You hold stablecoins like USDC or USDT in an app you control, and the card pulls from that balance when you pay. Wirex handles the card rails and fiat settlement at the till, but your unused funds sit in addresses you own, not on an exchange. COCA issues both a free virtual card and a physical card for tap, chip and ATM use.
This card suits people who already hold stablecoins and want them to work like a normal checking account. Think groceries, transport, subscriptions and travel, paid straight from crypto instead of cashing out first. It also fits travelers who dislike foreign transaction markups, and DeFi users who want their spendable balance to earn yield instead of sitting idle. If you refuse identity checks, this card is not for you. Card networks require KYC even on a non custodial wallet, and access depends on where you live.
Funding works through stablecoin deposits on a matching network (the app lists which chain to use for each token), or through SEPA and IBAN transfers where that feature is live in your region. Spend at any merchant that accepts the card network, and the wallet converts your balance at the point of sale. Cashback starts at 1 percent on the base tier with no token stake required. Higher tiers raise the rate, but you need to stake $COCA to reach them, which adds token price risk on top of a card decision. Idle balances can earn yield through Morpho lending markets, and that money stays spendable while it earns.
What sets this card apart is the split design: one wallet feeds the card and any IBAN balance, a separate wallet holds your core crypto, so day to day spending never touches your main holdings. Cashback pays out in stablecoin, not in a volatile token, and keys are exportable rather than locked behind a custodial exchange account. ATM withdrawals are free up to a monthly cap before a 2 percent fee kicks in, and the app also runs in app swaps so you can move between assets without leaving to use a separate exchange.
COCA card Key features
-
Self custody wallet
Your stablecoins sit in an MPC wallet you control, not on an exchange. COCA cannot move funds sitting in the wallet until you spend.
-
Virtual card
Issued in the app after verification, ready for online use right away. Add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay with no plastic fee.
-
Physical card
Plastic for tap, chip and ATM use. It costs $5 on Starter, Standard and Standard Plus tiers, and is free on higher tiers.
-
Tiered stablecoin cashback
Starter pays 1 percent cashback with no token stake. Higher tiers raise the rate toward 8 percent after staking 300 to 30,000 $COCA, paid out in USDC or USDT rather than the project token.
-
Subscription rebates
Higher tiers rebate up to 50 percent on categories like video, music and AI tools. The category list changes, so check the app before you count on a specific service.
-
Balance yield via Morpho
Idle USD style balances can earn roughly 5 to 6 percent APY through Morpho markets with Gauntlet risk management, while the funds stay spendable. Lower tiers face caps, and payouts land around the 10th of the following month.
-
EUR IBAN and SEPA
In supported regions you get a personal EUR account number for salary or transfers. Money that lands there can sit as a spendable balance and earn yield.
-
Zero advertised FX fee
COCA markets 0 percent FX on direct pairs. Independent testers, including a live 7-Eleven purchase, still recorded a spread against mid market rates, so treat this as no program surcharge rather than a guaranteed mid market rate.
-
Worldwide ATM access
Withdrawals are free up to about $250 a month, then a 2 percent fee applies. Daily cash cap is 850 EUR and monthly cap is 5,000 EUR, plus any fee the ATM operator adds.
-
In app hotel booking
Book hotels inside the app with advertised discounts up to about 65 percent on selected properties.
-
In app swaps and $COCA trading
Swap across chains with no COCA platform commission. Recent updates let you buy or sell $COCA from your USD balance through Aurora Intents instead of leaving the app.
-
Card security controls
Freeze the card instantly, use 3D Secure at checkout, and rely on biometric recovery so losing your phone does not mean losing your funds, as long as recovery was set up first.
-
Multi chain funding
Deposit stablecoins across many networks, including USDC on Ethereum, Base, Solana and Polygon, and USDT on Tron, Solana and Polygon among others. You have to match the network shown on the deposit screen, since wrong network sends cannot be recovered.
-
Regulated card issuer
Cards are issued through Wirex, an FCA supervised payments firm in the UK and UAB Wirex in the EEA. Card processing follows PCI DSS and ISO alignment, though this does not remove KYC or DeFi related risk.

COCA card Fees
-
Annual and monthly fee COCA charges no annual fee and no monthly account fee across tiers.
-
Virtual card issuance Issuing the virtual card in the app is free.
-
Physical card fee The physical card costs $5 on the three lowest tiers (Starter, Standard, Standard Plus) and is free on Premium and above.
-
FX and conversion fee COCA advertises a 0 percent conversion fee and 0 percent FX on direct pairs, though independent testers have recorded small mid-market spreads on some currencies.
-
ATM withdrawals ATM cash is free worldwide up to about $200 to $250 a month, then a 2 percent fee applies, plus any surcharge the ATM operator charges.

How to use COCA card
-
Download the COCA app
Get the app on iOS or Android, then create an account with email or passkey and set up biometrics for login and recovery.
-
Verify your identity
Submit a passport or national ID when you request a card. COCA cannot issue a card without this KYC step, even though the wallet itself is non custodial.
-
Issue your virtual card
Open the card section and activate the free virtual card so you can spend online right away. Order the physical card later if you need ATM access or in store tap, which costs $5 on the three lowest tiers.
-
Fund your balance
Send stablecoins like USDC or USDT from a supported chain, or use SEPA, IBAN, or another card, to top up your spendable balance. Match the network shown on the deposit screen exactly, since a wrong network send cannot be recovered.
-
Add the card to your phone
Add the virtual card to Apple Pay or Google Pay if you plan to tap and pay with your phone instead of carrying plastic.
-
Make your first payment
Spend at any merchant that accepts the card network. Check the Rewards tab afterward to see your cashback, which pays out in stablecoin on the schedule shown there.

COCA card Review
Pros
- Cashback is paid in stablecoin like USDC or USDT, not in the volatile project token.
- The wallet is non custodial, so COCA cannot move funds sitting in your address.
- Keys can be exported instead of being locked into a seed phrase you never see.
- Idle USD balances can earn around 5 to 6 percent APY through Morpho while staying spendable.
- There is no annual fee and no monthly account fee on any tier.
- Virtual card issuance is free and works with Apple Pay or Google Pay right away.
- ATM withdrawals are free up to about $250 a month before the 2 percent fee kicks in.
- The card is issued through Wirex, an FCA supervised payments firm, not an anonymous startup.
Cons
- Residents of the United States and Canada cannot get this card at all.
- One live test in Thailand showed an FX spread near 3.77 percent, far from the advertised 0 percent FX claim.
- Reaching the top 8 percent cashback tier means staking a large amount of the volatile COCA token.
- A monthly claim cap limits how much cashback you can actually withdraw even at high spend.
- Physical card issuance costs $5 on the three lowest tiers.
- Free ATM withdrawals stop at roughly $250 a month, then a 2 percent fee applies plus any ATM owner surcharge.
- Sending stablecoins on the wrong network means permanent loss with no support recovery.
- Idle balance yield runs through Morpho DeFi lending, which can fail and is not a guaranteed return.
Our verdict
COCA is worth carrying if you already hold stablecoins and hate parking them on an exchange. Starter tier is honest: 1 percent cashback, spendable yield, and you keep your keys. The real cost hides in FX, not the fee line. One live test in Thailand showed a 3.77 percent gap versus mid market on a single purchase, wiping out the cashback many times over. Don't chase the 8 percent tier unless you're fine buying $COCA and taking token risk on top of a spend card. What would change my mind: consistent FX prints closer to mid market across currencies, not just the headline "0 percent conversion" claim.
Is COCA card safe & legit?
COCA is a legit product, not a fly by night card. Wirex, an FCA supervised payments firm, issues the Visa/Mastercard, and the wallet layer runs on MPC self-custody, so your stablecoins sit in keys you control until the moment you spend, not in a COCA-run pool.
The known risks are real but ordinary for this category: you still do KYC, live FX tests show small spreads even under the 0% FX marketing, the $COCA token used for higher cashback tiers carries its own price risk, and yield comes from Morpho lending, which can lose money like any DeFi position. No hacks, exit scams, or custody failures are on record for COCA itself.

Most banks don't pay you for parking your salary with them. COCA does.
With COCA, your spendable balance earns 5% APY automatically from the moment your salary arrives.
No lockups. No minimum balance required to start earning. No extra steps.
$1,500 balance → ~$6/month → $75/year
$2,500 balance → ~$10/month → $125/year
$3,500 balance → ~$14/month → $175/year
Spend or transfer anytime. Claim from $1.

Not all “self-custodial” crypto cards are built the same 💳
Recent events are a reminder that the question shouldn't simply be: “Is my wallet self-custodial?”. It should be: “Who can access my funds when I actually use my card?”
At COCA, self-custody is fundamental to the product architecture, not just a feature on the homepage 📱
• Card spending is based on a smart account
• Your funds remain in your wallet instead of being moved into a shared prepaid pool
• Payment authorization happens when you actually spend
So your funds don’t need to sit in third-party infrastructure waiting to be used.
Your keys. Your funds. Your control.
That's what self-custody should mean 🔐

🚨 A $1.1M exploit has hit crypto card users
The important question isn't just "How did the hack happen?"
It's: "Where are your funds when you're spending with a crypto card?" 🔍
The @CoinDesk report on @avici and @useTria makes the distinction clear: having a self-custodial wallet doesn't mean every part of the card experience is self-custodial. When funds move into third-party infrastructure to enable card spending, that infrastructure becomes part of the security equation.
Self-custody is about more than owning the wallet. It's about knowing what happens to your money at every step.
That's why architecture matters 🔒
