Ready Card Overview
Ready Card was a Mastercard crypto debit card for spending USDC from a user-controlled Starknet wallet. You cannot order it now: the issuer wound down in July 2026, and the original card program stopped.
It suited eligible European users who wanted to spend stablecoins without moving money into an exchange card account. Users funded their wallet with USDC on Starknet, or bridged funds from another network. They could also buy USDC through an in-app provider. To spend BTC or ETH, they had to convert it first. At checkout, the issuer took the USDC needed for the purchase; users kept the remaining balance in their wallet.
The main difference was self custody, paired with everyday Mastercard payments. Lite had shipping of about $6.99 and historically paid 0.5% cashback in STRK. Metal cost 120 USDC per year, with advertised 0% FX fees and 3% STRK cashback on qualifying spend, subject to caps. STRK rewards could change in value, and Ready later moved toward points. Bridge or purchase-provider fees could add to the cost.
For someone who needs a card today, Ready Card is off the shortlist. Ready has announced a Community Card successor, but users cannot order it yet. The old card's fees and rewards should not be treated as replacement terms.
Ready Card Key features
-
Orders currently paused
You cannot order Ready Card after issuer Kulipa wound down in July 2026. Ready has announced a successor card direction, but you cannot order that card yet.
-
Self custody spending
Users kept USDC in their own Starknet smart contract wallet until card settlement, rather than preloading a balance held by Ready. Users retained access to wallet funds after the issuer shutdown.
-
Limited payment access
Users approved a limited session key so Kulipa could take only the USDC needed to settle a purchase. Users could revoke that key without giving up control of the rest of their wallet.
-
USDC Mastercard payments
Users could spend Starknet USDC at merchants that accepted Mastercard, online or in stores. Users had to swap or bridge other assets before spending.
-
Lite and Metal
Lite users paid about $6.99 for plastic card shipping, while Metal users paid 120 USDC per year for a 16g metal card. Neither tier had a monthly fee.
-
STRK cashback
Historical cashback rates were 0.5% on Lite and 3% on qualifying Metal spending, with monthly caps. Users received STRK rather than dollars and faced token price risk; Ready later shifted reward terms toward Ready Points.
-
Foreign currency spending
Ready advertised 0% FX fees on Metal, while published Lite fee tables commonly listed 1%. Users paid at Mastercard's official conversion rate plus any applicable card FX fee.
-
ATM cash withdrawals
Historical published terms commonly gave Lite users $200 and Metal users $800 in fee-free ATM withdrawals per month, then charged 2%. Users also faced a commonly published daily ATM limit of about $500.
-
Virtual card payments
Eligible users could use virtual cards and Google Pay in the UK and EEA while the program operated. Ready promised Apple Pay, but users could not consistently use it.
-
In app controls
Users could check transactions and reveal their PIN in the Ready app. They could also view virtual card details or freeze a lost card with one tap.

-
Lite shipping Lite users paid about $6.99 for shipping.
-
FX fees Ready advertised 0% FX for Metal, while Lite users commonly paid a published 1% FX fee, with conversion at Mastercard's official rate.
-
ATM withdrawals Users commonly paid no withdrawal fee on the first $200 per month with Lite or $800 with Metal, then paid 2% beyond that allowance.
-
Wallet funding Users paid 0% protocol conversion fees on USDC spend but still paid any bridge or onramp fees unless they received a promotional refund.

How to use Ready Card
-
Create your account
You cannot order or use the old Ready Card now; these steps describe the program before the July 2026 shutdown. Install the official Ready app from the iOS or Android store and create or restore your self custody account.
-
Verify your identity
Complete the card issuer's identity verification in the app. Check regional eligibility before you proceed: the issuer restricted the old program to EEA residents in June 2026.
-
Fund your wallet
Transfer USDC on Starknet to your card wallet, or use the supported in-app purchase or bridge route. Keep enough spendable USDC for your first purchase, with some extra as a buffer.
-
Choose your card
Open the card section and select Lite or Metal. Under the old terms, you paid about $6.99 for Lite shipping or 120 USDC for a year of Metal.
-
Activate your card
Activate the card and approve the limited session key so the issuer can settle the USDC amount needed for each purchase. You keep control of the remaining wallet funds and can revoke the key.
-
Make your first payment
Reveal your virtual card details in the app and enter them at an online checkout that accepts Mastercard. For an in-store payment, use the physical card or add it to Google Pay where supported.

It was a pleasure using Ready Card, though navigating payment gateway regulations is always challenging.
Thank you to @ready_co for empowering the Starknet community to truly own their freedom. 🧡
Ready Card Review
Pros
- Users kept USDC in their own wallets until a purchase and retained access after the card program stopped.
- Users could revoke the issuer's permission to take USDC for purchases.
- Metal users earned 3% cashback in STRK on qualifying spending, subject to monthly caps.
- Ready advertised 0% FX fees on Metal, which cost 120 USDC per year.
- Users could pay with USDC at merchants that accepted Mastercard while the program was active.
- Users could freeze a lost card with one tap in the app.
Cons
- You cannot order a Ready Card since issuer Kulipa shut down in July 2026.
- Some users could not receive merchant refunds after Kulipa stopped accepting them.
- Metal users paid 120 USDC per year upfront.
- You had to convert BTC or ETH to USDC before spending.
- Users received cashback in STRK, which could lose value before they sold it.
- Ready did not consistently support Apple Pay.
- Users outside the EEA lost card access in June 2026.
Our verdict
I wouldn't carry Ready Card now; its issuer closed, and orders remain paused. It suited European USDC holders who wanted to keep custody. Metal cost 120 USDC yearly, before funding fees and any conversion spread. The spread isn't specified, so I can't calculate costs after cashback. I'd reconsider once Ready names a new issuer and publishes complete costs.

Is Ready Card safe & legit?
Ready Card was a legitimate Mastercard product issued through Kulipa for London's Ready (formerly Argent), led by co-founder and CEO Itamar Lesuisse and backed by Index Ventures and Creandum, among others. Users held USDC in self-custody and kept access to their wallet funds after the shutdown. The major risk was issuer failure: Kulipa wound down in July 2026, so users cannot order cards now, and some users faced stuck merchant refunds.

Important update on Ready Cards.
Our card issuer is winding down and can no longer support the card program. We were given no notice, so if you were relying on the card today, you found out at roughly the same time we did. We are sorry for this; it’s not the experience we strive for.
Eligible card subscriptions will be refunded automatically.
Ready has always been self-custodial, so your assets sit in your own wallet under your own control.
We’re hyper-focused on building the next chapter of Ready on new infrastructure designed for greater reliability and long-term scale. It will enable an exciting new direction for Ready. We’ll share more on this very soon!- 50 replies
