Encrypto Card Overview

With Encrypto Card, you can spend on-chain crypto through a Visa debit card while keeping custody of your funds in a non-custodial wallet. It suits people paid in USDC and holders who want to use crypto for everyday purchases without first withdrawing to a bank. Direct wallet spending across nine supported blockchains is the main draw.

To fund it, deposit USDC or another supported asset into the wallet. You do not need a separate prepaid card balance. When you pay, Encrypto converts the amount needed and settles through Visa; the merchant receives local currency. After identity approval, you can use the virtual card online or add it to Apple Pay. A physical card is also available. Access remains invite only, with identity checks required. ATM withdrawals are listed as coming soon.

Encrypto charges no monthly or annual card fee, but spending is not cost-free. Conversion costs vary with the route and network costs, so check the live quote. Encrypto does not publish a fixed conversion percentage. The listed daily spending limit is $10,000. You can earn Encrypto Points on purchases, but no cashback rate is published. Idle stablecoins may also earn yield; no rate is stated in the supplied details. The appeal is fewer steps between holding crypto and paying a merchant. Variable conversion costs make it harder to budget than a card with a fixed fee schedule.

Encrypto Card Key features

  • Self custody wallet

You keep control of your wallet keys through Privy's non custodial wallet. Encrypto states that it does not take custody of your funds.

  • Direct crypto spending

You spend from supported on chain balances without a separate card top-up. Encrypto converts the amount needed at authorization, and the merchant receives local fiat through Visa.

  • Instant virtual card

You can use the virtual card immediately after identity approval. Access is invite only, and Encrypto requires KYC.

  • Physical card access

You can use a physical Visa card for in-store and contactless purchases. Encrypto ships the card to your address.

  • Apple Pay support

You can add the virtual card to Apple Pay for contactless payments. Google Pay is listed as coming soon.

  • Visa currency conversion

You can pay merchants that accept Visa, including those that charge in foreign currencies. Encrypto handles conversion automatically, but it does not publish a single fixed conversion rate.

  • No recurring card fee

Encrypto charges no monthly or annual card fee. You receive a live conversion quote, with costs that vary by the route and assets used.

  • Nine supported networks

You can fund the wallet across nine documented networks, including Ethereum and Solana. You see a combined spendable balance in the app.

  • App spending controls

You can set spending limits or freeze the card in the app. You can also revoke card access.

  • Balance and limits

You see your available balance update after each authorization, and you cannot spend beyond available funds. Encrypto lists a daily spending limit of $10,000.

  • Linked bank transfers

You can send or receive bank transfers through the same self custody setup, with rails such as ACH and SEPA. Some methods, including Zelle, depend on availability.

  • Stablecoin yield

You can earn yield on eligible stablecoin balances while keeping them available to spend. The supplied data does not state a yield rate.

  • Encrypto Points rewards

You can earn points on spending through the early access program, and referrals can increase point multipliers. The supplied data does not state a cash redemption value or cashback rate.

  • Black Tier waivers

Eligible Black Tier users can waive certain card transaction fees by posting enough collateral. This tier is invite only, and the supplied data does not state the collateral threshold or exact fees waived.

Encrypto Card Fees

  • Monthly and annual Encrypto charges no monthly or annual fee to hold or use the card.
  • Conversion costs You see a live conversion quote rather than a fixed published percentage, with costs that vary by asset and payment route.
  • Cross chain gas You may pay extra gas for cross chain settlement compared with a single chain USDC spend.
  • ATM and FX Once ATM access launches, Lead Bank and Visa network rules will govern ATM withdrawal fees and some foreign transaction costs; exact rates are not published.
  • Black Tier waivers Black Tier users who post sufficient collateral can waive certain card transaction fees, but Encrypto does not publish the collateral threshold or specify which fees qualify.

Encrypto Card Supported networks

  • Ethereum
  • Base
  • Arbitrum
  • Optimism

Encrypto Card Review

Pros

  • Encrypto charges no monthly or annual card fee.
  • You keep control of your wallet keys through Privy's non custodial wallet.
  • You can use the virtual card immediately after identity approval.
  • You can add the virtual card to Apple Pay for contactless purchases.
  • You can spend supported on chain balances without a separate card top-up.
  • You can fund your wallet across nine supported blockchains.
  • You can set spending limits or freeze the card in the app.

Cons

  • You need an invite and X account verification to join early access.
  • You must complete identity checks for full card access.
  • You pay variable conversion costs rather than a fixed published rate.
  • You may pay extra gas and wait longer when spending across chains.
  • You cannot withdraw cash at ATMs yet.
  • You need an invite to Black Tier and sufficient collateral for certain fee waivers.
  • You earn points with no published cash cashback rate.
  • Your on-chain assets have no FDIC deposit insurance.

Our verdict

I'd carry Encrypto Card as a backup if I earned USDC and wanted self-custody. You pay no monthly or annual fee, but conversion costs vary. Encrypto publishes no fixed conversion fee; check the spread and total fees. You earn points, with no published cashback rate. I'd use it daily after seeing consistently low all-in costs.

En funding

  • Backing - date not published LinkedIn and company materials name Press Start Capital and unnamed angels as backers, with support through a BTCfi and Payments fellowship that includes the Sui Foundation; no round type, amount or lead investor is disclosed.

Is Encrypto Card safe & legit?

Lead Bank issues the Visa card for Encrypto Inc., led by CEO Brandon Sanchez; Encrypto lists backing from Press Start Capital and fellowship support from the Sui Foundation, but the supplied data does not name its founders. You keep your keys through Privy's self-custody wallet, though on-chain balances have no FDIC protection and you still face smart contract risk. Those company details support legitimacy, but I would stay cautious: Encrypto is young and invite-only, conversion costs vary, and one user reported a missing refund, an unresolved complaint in the supplied data rather than proof of fraud.
