It fits sports traders who already play prediction markets and want a social layer on top, plus sharp bettors who post picks and want real upside when followers act. Casual fans get something too. Every account builds a public track record with wins, volume, and accuracy, so talk is cheap and receipts are visible.
The Discover feed lists live value picks with the Tailgate price next to the average market price, so the edge is visible before you act. World Cup matches, MLB, WNBA, soccer, and tennis all show up with spreads and money lines. See a play you like, tap Tail, done. The app executes through the best available liquidity, which kills the manual line shopping routine across apps.
The core tech is a cross exchange routing engine. It pulls liquidity from several markets and sends your order to the strongest price, and users report negative vig fills that single venue apps cannot match. Trades settle on Polygon for Polymarket liquidity and on Solana through DFlow for tokenized Kalshi markets.
Top performers earn from referrals and followers who tail them, and some creators already pull thousands a month this way. Access is invite only for now, so a code from an active user opens the door. My take: the routing is the genuinely useful part. The social side works only as long as the leaderboards stay honest, and the public track records do that job.

Is Tailgate safe & legit?
OverHerd Inc, based in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, built Tailgate and backs it with funding from Alliance and CB Ventures. The app is self custodial, so it never holds your funds, and all trades run through established third party markets like Polymarket and Kalshi rather than a house book taking the other side. No major red flags stand out beyond a few early support complaints about promo clarity, which is normal for a new invite only product still growing its user base.
