MiniPay Card Overview
The MiniPay Card is a digital Visa debit card inside the MiniPay wallet. It suits people who receive stablecoins and want to spend them at ordinary shops or online, especially freelancers and travelers. Card access is limited to eligible users in selected markets, so wallet availability alone does not mean you can get the card.
You fund the wallet with USDT, USDC or mUSD, or use supported local payment partners. At checkout, you spend stablecoins and the merchant receives local currency. You can add the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay for contactless payments. The main difference is self custody until payment: you keep funds in your wallet rather than load a separate prepaid card balance.
MiniPay charges no activation, monthly or annual card fee. Payment partners can charge for funding or currency conversion. MiniPay states that it adds no FX markup, but the program details mention a nominal FX fee without an exact amount. ATM fee amounts are also unspecified. I would check those costs in the app before using it abroad.
You can earn up to 5% cashback on qualifying purchases, paid into the wallet in tokenized gold or stablecoins, depending on the market. The rate is promotional, with spending exclusions. A $100 monthly cashback cap applies from late September 2026. For existing stablecoin users, direct wallet spending is the main draw; check eligibility and local reward terms before you apply.

Asi que vamos con la info:
Marca: Visa
Tipo: Virtual (Apple Pay / Google Pay)
Emisor: Monavate (UK, Lithuania)
Program Manager: Gnosis Pay
KYC: Si
Red: @Celo

MiniPay Card Review
Pros
- You pay no activation fee or recurring card fees.
- You keep control of your keys and wallet funds until you spend.
- You can spend stablecoins at more than 175 million Visa merchants worldwide.
- You can use Apple Pay or Google Pay for contactless payments.
- You can earn up to 5% cashback on qualifying purchases, capped at $100 monthly from late September 2026.
- You can freeze and unfreeze the card instantly in the MiniPay app.
Cons
- You can activate the card only in selected markets.
- You can earn at most $100 in monthly cashback from late September 2026.
- You earn no cashback on utilities or insurance payments.
- Third-party funding providers may charge fees or apply conversion spreads.
- Gnosis Pay mentions an FX fee without giving an exact rate in the supplied details.
- You must secure your own wallet keys and recovery access.
Our verdict
I'd carry MiniPay Card if I already held stablecoins and qualified. You keep self custody until payment and pay no ongoing card fees. I can't calculate total costs without exact partner spreads and FX fees. I'd reconsider if costs exceeded the cashback of up to 5%.
MiniPay funding
-
CELO grants - date not stated The Celo community approved multi year CELO grants to Opera for MiniPay growth, with proposals totaling several million dollars in CELO value across quarterly installments; the raw data gives no exact amount or named lead investors.
Is MiniPay Card safe & legit?
MiniPay appears legitimate: Blueboard Limited, part of Nasdaq-listed Opera, runs it with Opera funding and Celo community grants. Monavate issues the card, Gnosis Pay manages the program, and you keep funds in self-custody until payment. The supplied sources document no major MiniPay theft incident, but you face stablecoin and wallet recovery risks; I would treat the separate wallet claim of up to 2% weekly yield as a red flag that needs verification.

the @gnosispay card closes this year. the infra doesn't.
3 apps already running on it:
> @getrebind: best choice for EUR cards. No new ID checks, your account, IBAN and card carry over. Easiest migration. ~5% EUR yield + up to 5% cashback for $GNO holding. But it's not clear how cashback will work after its shutdown on Gnosispay (30th September)
> @usePicnicBR: another no re-KYC option, with same card. Recommended for USD cards. No cashback, ~3.5% USD yield. It started as Brazil only card, but expanded to whole world. They also offer ~2.2% EUR and ~12.4% BRLA yields
> @minipay: requires new account, recommended for USD cards. 5% cashback (up to $100 monthly) in $XAUt or $USDC in EEA. Up to 125% APY (capped at $10 per week, depends on balance + activity). The first product built on new system, deployed on Celo instead of Gnosis Chain. Built by Opera browser
