Sovrae Card Overview
Sovrae Card is a crypto debit card for people who hold USDT or USDC and want to spend without an extra bank transfer. You can order a virtual Mastercard or physical Visa through its browser app, then pay online or in stores with Apple Pay or Google Pay. Physical cardholders can also withdraw cash at ATMs.
To fund the card, send stablecoins to your permanent deposit address on a supported network. After confirmation, you can spend the card balance. Sovrae says issuing partners hold card funds, rather than Sovrae itself. The main draw is the published $1 million monthly spending limit, with a $20,000 limit per transaction. Sovrae advertises email-only virtual card registration; physical cards usually require a passport photo and selfie.
The virtual card costs $89 upfront, with a 2% top-up fee and a 1.5% fee plus $0.25 per purchase. The physical card costs $249 upfront, with a 1.5% top-up fee and a 1.5% fee plus $0.10 per purchase. Neither has a monthly maintenance fee. Non-USD purchases incur a 1.5% foreign exchange fee, and physical card ATM withdrawals cost 2%. Cashback details are not published.
Sovrae suits stablecoin holders who need high spending limits more than low fees. For occasional purchases, the upfront cost is hard to defend, and you pay fees both when you load and when you spend. Sovrae says it pays the gas for card purchases and top ups on Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain, so you do not need ETH or BNB for those transactions. You still pay normal TRC20 network costs on Tron, and card top up fees remain separate.

You can use auto top up to move stablecoins that arrive in your in-app wallet onto your card without a second manual step.

You can receive other coins in the app's non-custodial wallet and swap them to USDT or USDC. You must use those stablecoins to buy or load a card.

Sovrae says its issuing partners hold card deposits in segregated accounts rather than Sovrae holding them itself. Your loaded card balance remains with an issuer, so the non-custodial wallet does not make card funds self-custodied.

How to use Sovrae Card

Create your account
Open app.sovrae.io in your browser and sign up with your email address. Confirm your email.

Choose your card
Check the current fees and restricted country list in the app before you pay. Choose a virtual card ($89) or physical card ($249), then pay the issuance fee in USDT or USDC.

Complete any identity check
For a virtual card, continue without a passport upload. For a physical card, upload a passport photo and a selfie holding the document if required, or select the no-document option if available for about $100 extra.

Fund your card
Open the card screen and copy the permanent deposit address for your chosen supported network. Send USDT or USDC to that address on the same network.

Check your balance
Wait for confirmation on the network, then check your spendable card balance in the dashboard. Allow for the top-up fee: 2% for virtual cards or 1.5% for physical cards.

Make your first payment
Use your card details at an online merchant that accepts your card's Visa or Mastercard network and falls outside the blocked merchant categories. To pay in a store with your phone, add the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay and tap at checkout.

Our verdict
I'd skip Sovrae Card unless I needed high-limit stablecoin payments. For virtual, you pay $89 upfront and 2% per load. You pay 1.5% plus $0.25 per purchase, plus 1.5% for non-USD purchases. I lack published spread or cashback rates; Sovrae says partners hold card balances. I'd reconsider if Sovrae cut fees and published the spread.
Is Sovrae Card safe & legit?
Sovrae's listed operator is DMUT PTE LTD in Singapore, with no named founders or backers in the supplied data. Sovrae says unnamed issuers in Hong Kong and Singapore hold card balances in segregated accounts, so the card balance is custodial despite its separate self-custody wallet. I would treat its safety and legitimacy as unproven: the short track record and unnamed issuers warrant caution, and users face issuer failure or card freezes.
