Ripio Card is a prepaid Visa crypto card for people who already keep money in the Ripio app, particularly users in Argentina and Brazil. You spend an existing balance rather than borrow on credit. Ripio holds the funds in a custodial wallet, so it suits existing Ripio users more than people who want to keep crypto in their own wallet.

Fund your wallet with local currency or supported crypto, then choose which balance to spend. When you pay, Ripio converts crypto at its quoted rate and pays the merchant in fiat. You can use a virtual card online or through Apple Pay and Google Wallet. Ripio also ships a physical card free where available.

Ripio charges no annual or monthly card fee. The supplied card terms list 2% cashback on eligible crypto purchases and 0.5% on eligible fiat purchases, with a 0.5% conversion fee on crypto spending.     Ripio ships the physical Visa card at no charge after you confirm your delivery address. You can use it for purchases in stores or online.

  • Choice of balance

    You choose a supported crypto or local currency balance in your Ripio wallet before you pay. Ripio converts crypto at its quoted rate at checkout, and the merchant receives fiat.

  • Crypto cashback

    Ripio pays 2% cashback on eligible crypto funded purchases and 0.5% on eligible fiat funded purchases. Monthly caps apply, commonly ARS 50,000 in Argentina, with higher caps on some account levels.

  • First month bonus

    New cardholders receive double cashback for the first 30 days: 4% on eligible crypto funded purchases and 1% on eligible fiat funded purchases. Confirm the current terms for your market in the app.

  • No recurring fees

    Ripio charges no annual or monthly maintenance fee for the card. It also charges no issuance or inactivity fee.

  • Crypto conversion fee

    Ripio charges a 0.5% conversion fee on crypto funded card purchases. In its published card FAQs, Ripio lists no equivalent extra percentage for fiat funded purchases.

  • Mobile wallet payments

    You can add the virtual or physical card to Apple Pay or Google Wallet. Then you can tap your phone at supported payment terminals.

  • ATM cash access

    You can withdraw cash with the physical card at supported partner ATMs in markets where Ripio enables withdrawals. Fees and withdrawal limits vary by country.

  • Extra merchant cashback

    Ripio periodically runs extra cashback promotions at selected merchants on top of the base rate. Each promotion has its own terms and caps.

  • Prepaid spending only

    You spend money you already hold in Ripio, with no revolving credit line. Ripio declines a payment if your selected balance is too low.

  • Custodial wallet balance

    Ripio holds the funds you use for card purchases in its custodial wallet. You must fund that wallet before you can spend with the card.

How to use Ripio Card

  1. Create your account

    Download the Ripio app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Sign up with your email and phone number.

  2. Verify your identity

    Complete identity verification in the app with the documents required in your country.

  3. Fund your wallet

    Deposit local currency by bank transfer or a supported local payment method, or send crypto to the deposit address using the matching network shown in the app. Ripio holds these funds in its custodial wallet.

  4. Request your virtual card

    Open the Card section and request the virtual card. Accept the terms to receive your card details.

  5. Choose your payment balance

    In the Card section, select the currency or token you want to spend. Keep enough in that balance to cover the payment and any conversion fee, or Ripio will decline the payment.

  6. Make your first payment

    Enter your virtual card details at an online checkout that accepts Visa. Ripio deducts funds from your chosen balance at its quoted rate and charges a 0.5 percent conversion fee for crypto funded purchases.

    Estaba en el outlet rebajado $136.500 (Av Triunvirato 4251, caba)
    Pagué con mercado pago y me hizo 20% y como pagué con la tarjeta RIPIO que tenia cargada en mp (soy el nivel mas bajo) me devolvió 4.000 mas aprox!

I'd carry Ripio Card only if I already kept spending money with Ripio. Ripio holds your funds; you pay no annual fee, but ATM fees vary. You pay 0.5% for crypto conversion; Ripio caps the 2% cashback monthly. Without a published spread, I can't calculate the all-in cost. I'd reconsider if the spread and fees outweighed cashback.
