Solayer card Overview

Solayer Pay Card is a crypto debit card that lets you spend USDC at Visa merchants. You can use a virtual card online or add it to Apple Pay and Google Pay. A physical card adds contactless payments and ATM access.

The card suits people who already hold USDC on Solana related rails and want to pay for groceries, subscriptions, travel, or other everyday purchases without first selling on an exchange. You need to pass KYC and live in an eligible region. The current membership fee is $20 per year for new accounts. Eligibility and country access can change, so check the official terms before paying.

Fund the card with USDC, then spend from your Solayer Pay balance. The card settles transactions on Solayer Chain, so you do not need a separate fiat conversion before each purchase. A 0.5% top up fee applies. The official fee page also lists $0.15 for USD transactions and $0.10 plus 1.75% for non-USD transactions. ATM withdrawals have a $250 limit per transaction, including machine surcharges.

Its main difference is the wallet-first USDC spending flow, with an optional sUSD balance for a published yield of roughly 4% to 5%. Season 2 points apply to spending, but no fixed cashback rate is published. The card works best for regular USDC spending. Small purchases and heavy foreign currency use may cost more than a standard bank debit card.

Solayer card Key features

  • USDC Visa spending

Spend USDC from your Solayer account at Visa merchants online or in stores. You do not need a separate fiat conversion before checkout.

  • Instant virtual card

The virtual card becomes available after KYC approval. Use it for online payments or add it to Apple Pay and Google Pay.

  • Physical card

Order a physical card from the app or web dashboard after your account is ready. The card supports contactless payments and Visa ATM withdrawals.

  • Apple Pay support

Add the virtual or physical card to Apple Pay or Google Pay for phone payments at contactless terminals.

  • ATM cash access

The physical card supports Visa ATM withdrawals where the ATM accepts the card. Solayer lists a $250 maximum per withdrawal, including machine surcharges.

  • sUSD yield option

Deposit USDC and optionally mint sUSD, a Treasury-backed stablecoin. Official materials describe roughly 4% to 5% yield, instant minting and redemption, and no minimum balance.

  • Solayer settlement

Card activity settles on Solayer Chain, which Solayer describes as a hardware-accelerated SVM network. The product uses USDC on Solana-related rails.

  • Season 2 points

Users earn Season 2 points from card spending and referrals. Official pages say points may connect to future LAYER rewards, partner airdrops, merchandise, beta access, and events.

  • App card controls

The dashboard shows card details, top ups, spending history, and shipping orders. You can freeze or unfreeze a lost card from the app.

  • Published fee schedule

New accounts pay $20 per year, top ups cost 0.5%, and USD transactions cost $0.15. International non-USD transactions cost $0.10 plus 1.75%, while physical card shipping costs extra.

  • KYC onboarding

You must pass identity checks before you can use the card. Official materials say approval typically takes 3 to 5 business days.

  • Solana-first support

Card spending currently centers on USDC on Solana-style SVM rails, with settlement on Solayer Chain. Wider SVM and EVM support is described as coming soon rather than fully live for card spending.

Solayer card Fees

  • Annual membership New accounts pay $20 per year, and this covers virtual card access for the first year.
  • Physical card The physical card is free to issue, while shipping costs $24.99 for US Express or $59.99 for International Express.
  • Top-up fee Each top up costs 0.5 percent.
  • USD transactions Each USD transaction costs $0.15.
  • International and ATM International non-USD transactions cost $0.10 plus 1.75 percent, while ATM withdrawals have a $250 maximum per withdrawal including surcharges and standard machine and network fees.

How to use Solayer card

  1. Open the card app

Download the Solayer Pay app on iOS or Android, or open app.solayer.org/card. Check the current eligibility rules before you apply, since restricted countries and some US states cannot use the card.

  2. Connect your wallet

Connect a compatible Solana wallet and start onboarding in the app or web dashboard.

  3. Complete identity checks

Submit the required KYC information to the regulated issuer. Official guidance says approval typically takes 3 to 5 business days.

  4. Pay and activate

Pay the $20 yearly membership fee when prompted, then activate the virtual card in the dashboard. You can add the virtual card to Apple Pay or Google Pay after activation.

  5. Fund and pay

Deposit USDC into your Solayer Pay balance, and account for the 0.5% top-up fee. Use the virtual card online or in a store, or pay through Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Solayer card Review

Pros

  • You can spend USDC at Visa merchants without first selling it on an exchange.
  • The virtual card works with Apple Pay and Google Pay after KYC approval.
  • The physical card supports ATM withdrawals with a $250 maximum per withdrawal.
  • The card has no physical issuance fee, although shipping costs extra.
  • You can move idle USDC into sUSD, which official materials describe as earning roughly 4% to 5% yield.
  • The app lets you freeze a lost card and review top ups, spending, and card details.

Cons

  • The card charges a $20 annual membership fee for new accounts.
  • Each top up costs 0.5%, and USD purchases add a $0.15 fee.
  • Non-USD purchases cost $0.10 plus 1.75% of the transaction.
  • Physical card shipping costs extra, with listed prices of $24.99 for US Express and $59.99 for International Express.
  • ATM withdrawals have a $250 maximum per transaction, including machine surcharges.
  • You can have no more than 10 cards per account, including cancelled cards.
  • Card spending currently centers on USDC through Solana-style SVM rails, so Ethereum-native deposits may require a bridge.
  • Your spend balance sits in the Solayer Pay flow while you use the card, so it is not self-custodied.

Our verdict

I would carry the Solayer card if I already held USDC on supported Solana rails. The real cost includes $20 yearly, 0.5% top ups, $0.15 USD purchases, plus plastic shipping. Foreign purchases add 1.75% plus $0.10, while any separate spread remains unpublished. Funds remain in Solayer Pay until use, and points are not guaranteed cashback. A published spread, lower fees, and guaranteed cashback would change my mind.

Solayer funding

  • Seed - Date not published Solayer Labs raised $12 million in a seed round led by Polychain Capital, with participation from Binance Labs, Hack VC, Big Brain Holdings, Nomad Capital, Race Capital, ABCDE, and Maelstrom.

Is Solayer card safe & legit?

Solayer Pay Card appears legitimate: Solayer Labs runs it, an unnamed licensed Visa partner issues it, and the project raised $12 million from Polychain Capital, Binance Labs, Hack VC, and others. The founders are not named in the supplied data, and your USDC balance is custodial in a Solayer account, not self-custody. No major red flags are known, but KYC, regional restrictions, fees, phishing, and crypto custody remain real risks.
