Avici Card
Avici Card lets you spend USDC straight from a contract you control, only pulling collateral when you actually swipe.

Avici Card: USDC Escrow, Visa Fees And Supported Chains
What is Avici Card?
Avici Card is a Visa card that turns your escrowed USDC into spendable USD credit while your unspent crypto stays in a wallet you control.

Avici Card Overview
Avici Card is a Visa secured credit card built around a simple idea: your USDC never leaves your control until you actually spend it. You deposit USDC into a loan escrow smart contract that your own wallet owns, and that deposit opens a matching USD credit line on the card. Spend at any Visa merchant, and settlement pulls only the amount you spent from the contract, usually within one to seven days. Whatever you have not spent stays under your wallet, not under Avici's, Visa's, or the issuer's.
This card is for people who hold crypto and want to spend it in the real world without selling first. If you already hold USDC or other supported tokens and want to cover groceries, subscriptions, travel, or ATM cash while your leftover balance sits in a contract you control, this fits. It also suits freelancers and onchain businesses that want a card for day to day spend while keeping treasury in crypto, and anyone who wants a working Apple Pay or Google Pay card in minutes instead of waiting for plastic in the mail.
It is a weaker fit if you rely on ATM withdrawals often. Platinum charges $1 plus 0.65% per withdrawal, and there is a $250 daily cap with three withdrawals, though Signature drops the Avici ATM fee to $0. It also is not the card to pick for cashback: there is no standard rewards program, and Signature perks are Visa network benefits like travel protections, not a points system.
Funding works like this: send USDC into the escrow contract, and a $100 deposit becomes $100 of spend power. Spend $20 and your card shows $80 until settlement clears that $20 from the contract. You can withdraw any unused credit back to your Avici wallet or an outside wallet at any time. Top ups accept USDC directly, and other tokens can be swapped in the background before crediting the card, with a $1 minimum and no Avici top up fee. Card credit itself is created only from USDC, even though deposits can arrive from Solana or a wide set of EVM chains.
What sets this card apart from a typical exchange debit card is custody. Most crypto debit cards convert your balance to fiat and hold it for you. Avici's escrow model keeps unspent collateral in a contract you own, so you are not handing over your full balance to get access to a Visa card. On top of that, there is no Avici purchase fee and a 0% Avici FX markup on spending, though Visa still applies its own cross border charge of roughly 0.4% to 1% on non USD purchases. You can also run several virtual cards off one collateral pool, useful if you want separate limits for subscriptions, travel, or a business vendor account.
Card issuance costs vary by tier. Virtual Platinum runs $15 for the first card and $10 for each extra one, with no annual fee. Virtual Signature is $30 in year one, then $20 a year after. Physical Platinum is a $50 one time fee, and Physical Signature is $75 plus $20 a year from year two. Standard shipping is free but untracked and takes about three to four weeks; priority shipping is paid and tracked, arriving in one to two weeks. All issuance fees are paid in USDC before your identity check finishes.
Country coverage reaches beyond the usual US and Europe lists, with support in large parts of Latin America, Africa, and parts of Asia, plus selected US states. That said, the list changes, so check the app before you go through identity verification, since a country not on the current list means no card. If you need heavy ATM use, live somewhere on Avici's blocked list, or want cashback to be the main reason you pick a card, look elsewhere.
Avici Card Key features
-
Self custody escrow
You deposit USDC into a smart contract your wallet owns, and that creates a matching USD credit line. Unspent collateral stays under your control until you withdraw it.
-
Passkey login
You log in with Face ID, Touch ID, or a Google/iCloud style passkey instead of a seed phrase. Gas is often sponsored on Solana and EVM L2s, so top ups feel like a normal app action.
-
Platinum and Signature tiers
Platinum is the low cost daily card. Signature adds Visa Signature perks like travel protections and $0 Avici ATM fees, and both come in virtual or physical form.
-
Multiple cards, one balance
You can issue extra virtual cards for subscriptions, travel, or groceries, each with its own limit, all funded from one collateral pool.
-
Apple Pay and Google Pay
Copy the card's PAN, expiry, and CVV into your phone wallet and start spending before the physical card ships.
-
Physical card option
The card works for swipe, chip, tap, and ATM use. Standard shipping is free but untracked, and priority shipping is paid and tracked.
-
Any token top up
The escrow contract runs on USDC, but the app can swap other supported tokens in the background before crediting the card. Minimum top up is $1, and Avici charges no top up fee.
-
USD and EUR virtual accounts
ACH, wire, and SEPA style rails convert incoming fiat into USDC in your Avici wallet, which is useful if you get paid in cash but want to hold crypto.
-
Business cards
Teams, DAOs, and freelancers can run the same escrow model under a business KYC profile to keep vendor and SaaS spend separate from personal cards.
-
No purchase fee, 0% FX markup
Avici does not charge a fee on purchases and adds no FX markup of its own, though Visa can still add its own charge on non USD transactions.
-
Onchain transparency
Deposits, charges, and withdrawals all show up as contract events, which makes reconciliation easier. It does not remove issuer or partner contract risk.
-
Broad country coverage
The card is available in large parts of Latin America, Africa, and parts of Asia, plus selected US states, reaching markets many EU or US only cards skip.
-
Multi chain top ups
You can fund the card from Solana or a wide set of EVM chains including Ethereum, Polygon, Base, Arbitrum, and others, though the live supported list should be checked in app before sending.
Avici Card Fees
-
Card issuance fee Virtual Platinum costs $15 for the first card and $10 for each extra virtual card with no annual fee, Virtual Signature costs $30 the first year then $20 a year, Physical Platinum is a $50 one time charge, and Physical Signature is $75 plus $20 a year from year two.
-
Purchases and top ups Avici charges $0 for purchases, top ups, and withdrawals back to your wallet.
-
FX markup Avici applies a 0% FX markup, but Visa can still add about 0.4% to 1% on non-USD merchant charges.
-
ATM withdrawals Platinum ATM withdrawals cost $1 plus 0.65% per withdrawal (with a $0.60 charge for a decline or balance inquiry), Signature ATM withdrawals are $0, and the daily cap on both is $250 across 3 withdrawals.
-
Shipping fee Standard shipping is free and untracked, while priority shipping costs $15 within the US and $50 internationally.

How to use Avici Card
-
Verify your identity
Download the Avici app from avici.money, sign up with email and a passkey, then complete Sumsub ID and selfie checks. Manual review can take a few business days.
-
Choose and pay for your card
Pick Platinum or Signature, virtual or physical, then pay the card fee in USDC on a supported network. Issuance is paid before KYC finishes.
-
Fund your Avici wallet
Send USDC, or another swappable token, to your Avici wallet on Solana or a supported EVM chain like Ethereum, Base, or Arbitrum.
-
Top up your card
Tap Top up on the card and move USDC (or a token that gets swapped to USDC) into the escrow contract. The minimum top up is $1, and this creates matching USD spend power.
-
Add it to your wallet app
Copy the card's PAN, expiry, and CVV into Apple Pay or Google Pay so you can tap to pay before any physical card arrives.
-
Spend and manage your balance
Use the card at any Visa merchant, set per-card limits if you run multiple cards, and use Withdraw Balance to pull unspent credit back to your wallet whenever you want.

Avici Card User Reviews

Woah. Hackers took $2250 from our account. We got $2500 back. Absolute chad move. Honestly I was more pissed that I had to find a new card because I absolutely love Avici. Glad they have recovered swiftly.

Been using @AviciMoney for a long time now and honestly I've had a really good experience with them. Never had my card declined and the whole product has been super easy to use. Yesterday was obviously not a good day. @raincards, the card provider Avici uses had a security issue and a lot of users had money disappear from their card balances. But from what Avici team said, everyone affected will be refunded and their actual wallets are safe. I personally got my money back in full, as well as some other people that I know. Still using Avici and still believe in the project.

Up until now. My avici card worked better than any other crypto card I have tried.

Avici Card Review
Pros
- Unspent USDC stays in a contract your wallet owns, not in Avici's custody, until you actually spend it.
- Avici charges $0 on purchases, top ups, and withdrawals back to your wallet, so Visa's 0.4% to 1% cross border fee is often the only cost per swipe.
- You can fund the card from Solana or a wide EVM set, including Base, Arbitrum, and Polygon, and the app can swap other tokens into USDC before crediting the card.
- Signature tier drops the Avici ATM fee to $0, while Platinum still runs $1 plus 0.65% per withdrawal.
- A virtual card can be loaded into Apple Pay or Google Pay minutes after KYC clears, so you are not stuck waiting on plastic to arrive.
- One collateral pool can back several virtual cards with their own limits, which helps if you want separate budgets for subscriptions and daily spend.
- After the August 28 Rain contract exploit, Avici says affected users got full refunds plus 10% extra on the withdrawn amount, and users on X confirm getting money back within days.
- Deposits, charges, and withdrawals show up as onchain events, so you can reconcile spend without waiting on a monthly statement.
Cons
- No cashback program exists on standard card spend.
- The August 28 exploit drained $500,859 from 1,685 users' card top-up balances.
- Card issuance depends on Rain, a partner whose Solana contract was exploited once already.
- The blocked country list rules out India, China, Russia, Iran, and Turkey.
- ATM withdrawals cap out at $250 and 3 transactions per day.
- Platinum ATM withdrawals cost $1 plus 0.65%, and card replacement is not free.
- Standard physical card shipping is untracked and can take 3 to 4 weeks.
- Visa still adds roughly 0.4% to 1% on non-USD purchases despite the 0% Avici FX markup.
Our verdict
Avici is worth carrying if you already hold USDC and hate selling it to buy coffee. The 0% Avici FX markup and $0 swipe fees are real, but Visa still tacks on 0.4% to 1% on non-USD purchases, and Platinum ATM use costs $1 plus 0.65% per pull. There is no cashback engine here, so ignore any headline reward talk and judge it purely on custody and cost. It fits freelancers and crypto-heavy spenders in supported countries who want their unspent balance sitting in a contract they control, not a card chaser. What would change my mind: another Rain-side exploit like the August 28 incident, where $500,859 got pulled from user top-up balances even though main wallets stayed safe. One refund is reassuring. Two would tell me the shared infrastructure risk is the real price of this card, not the fees on the page.

UPDATE: Refunds are processed in full, with an extra 10% cashback.
The Solana contract has been updated. We haven't seen any further related activity, and we're constantly monitoring it.
If your Solana card balance was withdrawn a few hours ago, we've restored the full amount and added 10% cashback on what was withdrawn. Open the app and cross-check your balance.
Here's exactly what was affected and what wasn't:
1. This was limited to card contracts on Solana holding balances added through Avici's Top Up flow.
2. Your regular Avici Solana and EVM wallets were never affected. Those wallets are self-custodial and stayed under your control the entire time.
3. EVM card balances, onramps, offramps, and swaps were not affected.
4. Funds outside these Solana card-balance contracts were never exposed.
We made a very deliberate choice to keep your Avici wallet separate from your card balance. It's why you have to manually Top Up before spending. Combining both would've made the app easier to use, but we didn't do it because we believed keeping them separate was safer.
That separation is why this stayed limited to the affected Solana card contracts while wallets and everything else in Avici stayed untouched. That doesn't make what affected users went through okay. We're sorry for the stress and uncertainty this caused.
We're not proud that this happened. We are proud that Avici is built onchain, where balance movements are immediately visible and independently verifiable instead of hidden behind a private ledger. In traditional fintech, the number shown in an app can stay unchanged while what is happening underneath remains invisible. Here, anyone could see the movement onchain as it happened.
We're pushing the frontier of onchain finance, and that road was never going to be easy. Moments like this are painful and humbling, but they show us what has to improve and will make Avici stronger. We're not stepping back. We're going to keep pushing forward.
Rain, our card issuing partner, covered all reimbursements in full. Huge credit to their team for moving quickly, working closely with us, restoring every affected balance, and fixing the issue.
We'll publish a full postmortem once the investigation is complete.
And a huge thank you to every partner who jumped in immediately to help us through this: @solana, @raincards, @Helius, @MetaDAOProject, @zeroshadow_io, and @asymmetric_re.
Thank you for staying with us through the uncertainty and stress this caused today.

UPDATE: All affected card balances will be refunded in full
Earlier today, our card-issuing partner, Rain, identified a vulnerability in an version of a Solana card contract used by Avici and a small number of other programs. The contract has now been upgraded across all programs, and no further unauthorised activity has been observed.
Avici wallets and card balances are separate. Avici wallets are self-custodial and remain under users’ control.
When users top up their cards, funds move into a separate Solana contract that holds their card balance. Only this contract was affected.
Note: Funds held in Avici’s Solana and EVM wallets are safe and were not affected.
Our current reconciliation shows that 1,685 users were affected, representing $500,859.22 in card balances.
Every affected user will have their card balance refunded in full. We remain in close contact with our card-issuing and security partners and are monitoring the remediation closely.
Avici has also filed a report with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center. We are deeply sorry for the concern and inconvenience this has caused.- 195 replies

many wallets charge 0.8-1% every time you swap.
on $1,000, that’s $8-$10 gone.
on Avici, its zero swap fees and we cover the network fees too.
