Kraken Card Key features

• Crypto debit spending

  Spend balances held on Kraken or Krak at shops, websites, and ATMs. Purchases settle in local fiat through Mastercard in the UK and EEA or Visa in the United States.

• Spend Order control

  Rank spendable assets and block coins you do not want to sell. If the first asset cannot cover a purchase, the card uses the next eligible asset in the list.

• Everyday balance

  Move the cash or crypto you plan to spend into a separate Everyday balance. Trading inventory, staking positions, and other exchange holdings stay outside the spending balance until you move funds.

• Tiered Bitcoin cashback

  Cashback can reach 2% based on your 30 day average balance across Krak, Kraken, and Kraken Pro. You can receive rewards in Bitcoin or local fiat, while ATM cash, refunds, chargebacks, wires, and very small purchases do not qualify.

• Instant virtual card

  The app issues a virtual card immediately. You can add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay before your physical card arrives.

• Physical card

  The first physical card is free and needs in-app activation and a PIN. A Metal Card is available for users who meet the top Rewards tier balance requirement.

• Low card fees

  Kraken lists no annual fee, monthly fee, local currency transaction fee, foreign exchange markup, or Kraken ATM fee. Crypto spending still includes a variable conversion spread in the sale price, and an ATM operator may charge its own fee.

• Card security controls

  The app provides charge alerts, one-tap card freeze, PIN and CVV access, and 3D Secure checks at supported online merchants.

• Local currency refunds

  Merchant refunds return to Everyday in GBP, EUR, or USD. The card does not automatically buy back the crypto sold for the original purchase.

• Custodial crypto balance

  Crypto in Everyday remains under Kraken custody, so you do not hold the private keys. UK and EEA fiat balances are described as safeguarded, while US Everyday balances are not FDIC or SIPC insured.

• Regional availability

  Verified personal account holders in the UK and EEA can use the Mastercard card, while eligible US residents can use the Visa card. Business accounts are excluded, and US state availability is incomplete.

• Annual fee There is no annual fee.
• Monthly fee There is no monthly fee.
• Card issuance The first virtual card and first plastic card are free.
• Foreign exchange Kraken adds no FX markup, but crypto or cross-asset spending includes a variable spread in the sale price.
• ATM withdrawals Kraken adds no ATM fee, but the cash machine operator may charge a surcharge.

How to use Kraken Card

1. 1

   Create a personal account

   Open the latest Kraken app in a supported region and use a personal account. Business accounts cannot order the card.

2. 2

   Verify your identity

   Complete Kraken's identity checks before ordering the card. The card flow is available to verified personal users in the UK, EEA, and eligible US regions.

3. 3

   Order the virtual card

   Start the card flow, choose a virtual design, and accept the card terms. Install Krak and sign in with the same email and password.

4. 4

   Fund Everyday

   Move the cash or crypto you plan to spend into the Everyday balance. In Krak, open Spend Order, rank your spendable assets, and block any asset you do not want sold.

5. 5

   Make your first payment

   Use the virtual card at a merchant that accepts its network, or add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay first. The platform converts the selected asset into local fiat at authorization and settles the purchase with the merchant.
