Trueo Overview

Trueo is an onchain prediction market protocol on Base where you trade yes or no positions on real world events. You buy a YES token if you think something will happen, a NO token if you think it won't. Price reflects the market's odds. If YES sits at 0.30 TYD, traders think there's a 30 percent chance it happens. Win, and your token redeems for 1 TYD. Lose, and it's worth nothing.

This tool fits people who already trade on Base and want exposure to crypto news, politics, or tech outcomes without handing funds to a middleman. You keep custody of your tokens the whole time. Contracts settle trades directly, and nothing sits in a company-controlled balance. If you've used Uniswap or Aave, the flow will feel familiar.

Here's how a trade actually works. You deposit USDC and mint TYD, the True Yield Dollar, which is Trueo's collateral asset. TYD is backed 1:1 by USDC through a Yearn vault, so it earns yield in the background while you hold it. You then use TYD to buy outcome tokens on Uniswap v4 pools built with a custom hook, or to mint YES and NO pairs directly if you want to provide liquidity. When a market ends, anyone can propose a resolution by posting a bond. A 12-hour window lets others dispute it. If nobody challenges the result, it finalizes and winners redeem. If someone does dispute, the case goes to an Oracle Council, then to TRUE token holder votes, and finally to a group of attesters chosen through proof of reputation rather than pure stake.

What sets Trueo apart from a typical prediction app comes down to two things. First, the market question, its data sources, and the resolution rules get locked onchain the moment a market launches. Nobody can quietly edit "what the question really meant" after the fact, and you can check the exact wording on Basescan. Second, your collateral doesn't sit idle. Most prediction markets ask you to lock capital and just wait. Trueo's TYD keeps earning yield through Yearn the entire time your position is open, which matters more the longer a market runs.

Trueo also runs a permissionless launchpad, so anyone can propose a new market and fund it with TYD. Once both sides hit a funding threshold, the market graduates into live trading pools. That's a different model from platforms where only the operator can list new markets. It also means market quality varies. Some proposals are sharp, some aren't, so check the funding and rules before you commit capital to a new one.

Trueo Key features

  • Binary yes or no markets

Every market answers one question, so you just pick the side you believe in. After the event, the winning token redeems for 1 TYD and the losing side goes to zero.

  • Onchain locked market text

The question, sources, and resolution rules get written into the creation transaction and cannot be edited later. Anyone can check the exact wording on Basescan.

  • Yield bearing TYD collateral

You deposit USDC to mint TYD, an ERC 4626 vault token that keeps earning yield through Yearn while your market position stays open. Long dated bets no longer sit on dead capital.

  • Permissionless outcome minting

Anyone can deposit TYD into a live market and get equal YES and NO tokens back. You can also burn 1 YES plus 1 NO for 1 TYD before resolution to exit a full position.

  • Uniswap v4 pool trading

YES and NO tokens trade against TYD through pools built with a custom Uniswap v4 hook. Trades settle onchain and the protocol never holds your tokens.

  • User created market launchpad

Anyone can propose a market and fund it with TYD. Once both sides hit the funding threshold, the market graduates into live trading pools.

  • Optimistic resolution window

After an event ends, anyone can post a bond and propose the outcome. If nobody disputes within 12 hours, the market finalizes and the resolver earns a reward.

  • Layered dispute system

A disputed outcome goes to the Oracle Council first, then to TRUE holder votes, and finally to attesters if needed. Bonds get slashed for bad faith calls, which keeps spam disputes rare.

  • Attester reputation layer

Attesters are known figures in crypto, like governance delegates and long time contributors, who get pulled into a rotating jury for the toughest disputes. The team calls this proof of reputation rather than plain token stake.

  • TRUE governance token

TRUE holders vote on disputed markets, set protocol fees, and manage oracle configuration. Supply is capped at 100 million, split across Patron NFTs, incentives, and a team allocation with two year vesting.

  • Market browsing and filters

The app sorts markets by category like Crypto, Politics, and Technology, and shows live odds, volume, and end dates on each card. You can bookmark markets you want to track.

  • Public contracts and metrics

Contracts are open on GitHub, and DefiLlama tracks TVL, fees, and volume for the protocol. Basescan lets you confirm any market's text or resolution transaction yourself.

Trueo Fees

  • Network gas You pay normal Base gas fees for each transaction, usually cents but higher when the network is busy.
  • Trading fee The Uniswap v4 hook sets a feeNumerator out of 10000; the default in source is 0, though a code comment notes 36 equals 0.36 percent, and admins can change this rate.
  • Launchpad fee Graduating a proposal into a live market takes a deployment fee, and withdrawing funds during the funding phase also takes a fee, both shown as live contract values rather than fixed published rates.
  • Oracle bonds Default bonds are 250 TYD to propose a resolution, 250 TYD to dispute it, and 750 TYD to escalate, though older markets may still use a 2500 TYD escalation bond.
  • Attester escalation Escalating to attesters requires holding 250000 liquid TRUE or 250000 staked TRUE under the genesis rules, instead of an extra bond.

How to use Trueo

  1. Set up a wallet

Install a self custodial EVM wallet like MetaMask or Rabby and add the Base network. Trueo runs only on Base, so this step is not optional.

  2. Fund it with USDC

Bridge or buy USDC on Base, then leave a bit of ETH in the wallet for gas. Gas on Base is cheap, but you still need some.

  3. Connect to Trueo

Go to trueo.com and click Connect. Approve the connection request in your wallet.

  4. Mint TYD

Deposit USDC into the protocol vault to mint TYD. This is the collateral you trade with, and it keeps earning yield once it sits in a market.

  5. Read the market rules

Before you trade, open the market page and check the question, the approved sources, and any extra resolution rules. These are locked onchain, so read them once and trust them.

  6. Buy YES or NO

Buy YES if you think the event happens, or NO if you think it does not. Confirm the swap in your wallet and the price will move with demand.

  7. Mint a complete set

If you want to provide liquidity instead of just trading, deposit TYD to mint equal YES and NO tokens. You can place these into the YES TYD and NO TYD pools.

  8. Fund a new proposal

If no market exists for your question, back a proposal with TYD during its funding window. A launchpad fee applies both to early withdrawal and to graduation, so check the live rate first.

  9. Watch the resolution window

After the event ends, anyone can post a bond and propose an outcome. There is a 12 hour window where the result can be disputed if it breaks the written rules.

  10. Redeem your tokens

Once the market finalizes, redeem winning tokens for 1 TYD each. If you still hold a full YES and NO pair and the market has not resolved yet, you can burn the pair back for 1 TYD.

  11. Verify on Basescan

If you want to double check market text, bond amounts, or a resolution transaction, look it up on Basescan directly. Do not take a screenshot or a UI label as proof.

Trueo Review

Pros

  • Your USDC keeps earning yield through TYD while a market is still open, so a long-shot bet does not sit idle.
  • Market questions and sources are locked onchain at creation, so nobody can quietly reword the rules after you take a position.
  • Trades settle through Uniswap v4 pools and the protocol never holds your YES or NO tokens.
  • Anyone can propose a market and get it live if funding on both sides hits the threshold.
  • Bad or lazy resolutions can be challenged with a bond, then reviewed by a council, TRUE holders, and reputation-based attesters.
  • Contracts, audits from Guardian Audits and iosiro, and volume data are public on GitHub, Basescan, and DefiLlama.
  • Gas costs stay low since everything runs on Base instead of Ethereum mainnet.
  • You can mint a full set of YES and NO tokens from TYD anytime and burn them back for TYD if you want out before resolution.

Cons

  • Order books are thin, so large trades will move the price a lot.
  • Everything runs on Base only, with no other chain to fall back on if Base has problems.
  • Volume on many markets is low, sometimes only mid four figures.
  • Fee numbers for trading and the launchpad are not always shown clearly in the app.
  • Filing a dispute means locking up a 250 TYD bond, which most casual traders will not bother with.
  • There is no public page naming the team, and they hold 25 percent of TRUE supply.
  • TYD collateral carries extra risk from the Yearn vault and USDC peg, on top of the market bet itself.
  • Contracts are upgradeable, so you have to trust whoever holds the admin and fee-setter keys.

Our verdict

Trueo is a Base-based prediction market with a real trick up its sleeve: your collateral keeps earning yield while a market sits open. Trade YES or NO on real events, and instead of USDC just sitting there, you hold TYD, a yield-bearing token backed by USDC through a Yearn vault. I like that the market question, sources, and rules get locked onchain at creation, so nobody can quietly redefine what a bet actually meant after the fact. The resolution system (optimistic proposals, an Oracle Council, TRUE holder votes, and a final attester layer) is more thought-through than most, though it also means casual traders won't bother disputing anything since bonds start at 250 TYD. My honest read: this is a good fit for DeFi people who already live on Base and want noncustodial binary bets without idle capital, but liquidity is thin, several fee numbers show as placeholders in the UI, and there's no public team page to check who's actually running things. If you're chasing deep order books or a polished, fully transparent operation, look elsewhere for now; if you want to size small and put your collateral to work while you wait, Trueo does something genuinely different.

Is Trueo safe & legit?

Trueo is built by the team behind the earlier Truemarkets protocol, rebranded after a trademark dispute, and it runs fully onchain on Base with public contracts and audits from Guardian Audits and iosiro. I would not call it "trusted" in the way Polymarket is (its volume is thin and there is no named founder page), but the mechanics check out: funds stay in your wallet, resolution rules are locked onchain, and disputes go through bonded challenges plus an attester layer. The real risks are structural rather than scammy: a heavy 25 percent team token allocation with vesting to watch, low liquidity that will slip on bigger trades, and TYD collateral carrying Yearn and USDC exposure on top of your market bet.

Trueo FAQ

What is Trueo?
Trueo is an onchain protocol where you buy YES or NO tokens on real world events, like whether a token launches or a protocol gets hacked. Prices move as people trade, so a YES token at 0.30 TYD means the market puts the odds at 30 percent. The winning token redeems for 1 TYD after the event settles, and the losing side goes to zero.
How does the yield on my collateral work?
You deposit USDC and mint TYD, the True Yield Dollar, which sits in a Yearn vault built for Trueo. That vault runs low risk strategies and tries to match or beat the Aave USDC rate on Base. Your TYD keeps earning while a market stays open, so your money is not just sitting idle waiting on an outcome.
Is Trueo safe, and who runs it?
The protocol never holds your YES or NO tokens, you sign every swap, mint, and redemption from your own wallet. Contracts are public on GitHub, audited by Guardian Audits and iosiro, and tracked on DefiLlama and Basescan. That said, there is no public founder page on the site, and the team holds 25 percent of TRUE supply, so read the vesting terms yourself before you size a position.
What chain does Trueo use, and what will trading cost me?
Trueo runs only on Base, so you need Base USDC and a bit of ETH for gas. Beyond gas, you pay a pool trading fee set by the Uniswap v4 hook (check the live rate, it is not fixed), plus launchpad fees if you fund a new market, plus oracle bonds of around 250 TYD if you propose or dispute a resolution.
What happens if I disagree with how a market resolved?
Anyone can post a bond and dispute a proposed outcome within the 12 hour challenge window. The Oracle Council reviews the dispute first, and if that is not enough, it escalates to a TRUE holder vote and finally to attesters, a group chosen for reputation rather than just token stake. Get it wrong and your bond can be slashed, so this is not a casual click for most users.
