Based Overview
Based is a self-custody crypto app for trading Polymarket prediction markets, crypto perps, spot assets, and stock perps in one account. It also includes token swaps, an AI research assistant, and a Visa card for spending crypto.
It suits Polymarket users who also trade on Hyperliquid, as well as traders who want mobile access to crypto, US stock, Asian stock, index, commodity, and FX perps. To start, sign in with email, Google, or a wallet, deposit USDC or another supported token, then move funds into the prediction balance. Choose a market, select Yes or No, enter the amount, and track the position in Portfolio.
Based stands out because it puts Polymarket and Hyperliquid in the same interface. Users get calendar and card views, trader leaderboards, position analysis, live sports media, and quick transfers between trading balances. Based adds a 1% fee on top of Polymarket fees, so the convenience costs more than using Polymarket directly.

I recently downloaded based app, I believe I've seen what I'm looking for when it comes to consumer friendly user experience. Low-key I prefer using based to CEXs. I'm definitely going to use based app to officially kick off my POP 1:1RR.

Back to @BasedOneX. After using its UI everything else feels disappointing or lacking something. It gave me a great UX that makes me come back again.

Basically just a frontend wrapper over @HyperliquidX + @Polymarket users trade, bet, etc. through a cleaner UI (web + mobile). No real innovation, just convenience + extra fee. Surprisingly, it worked: $15.2M raised, $42.48B total volume, 41.7k users.

Based Review
Pros
- It puts Polymarket markets, Hyperliquid perps, spot trading, and swaps in one account.
- It moves funds between Hyperliquid and the prediction balance without manual bridging.
- It includes market filters, calendar views, trader leaderboards, and position analysis.
- It supports iOS, Android, web, and desktop apps.
- It gives users access to US and Asian stock perps 24/7 without a broker account.
- It supports advanced orders such as TWAP, take profit, stop loss, and trailing stop loss.
- It lets users keep control of their wallet through self custody and exportable private keys.
Cons
- Based adds a 1% fee to Polymarket prediction trades on top of Polymarket fees.
- A card program dashboard breach exposed some users' KYC details, and new card signups are paused.
- Prediction markets may be unavailable in some regions because of local rules.
- Based has no subaccount support, which limits account separation for active traders.
- Phantom does not support HyperEVM signing in Based.
- Season 3 Diamonds rewarded Hyperliquid trading but gave no rewards for prediction activity.
- Google Play users rate the app 3.9 out of 5.
- Perpetual futures carry liquidation risk and funding fees.
Our verdict
Based is a legitimate, well-funded app that puts Hyperliquid perps, spot trading, swaps, and Polymarket markets in one clean account, with a strong mobile experience and useful tools such as trader leaderboards and live market streams. It falls short on fees and trust: prediction trades cost an extra 1% on top of Polymarket fees, and the October card KYC data leak hurt confidence even though wallet funds were not affected. The app also lacks subaccounts, and perps still carry liquidation risk. I recommend Based for Polymarket users and Hyperliquid traders who want both products side by side, but users focused on the lowest fees or card security should look elsewhere.
Is Based safe & legit?
Based is a legitimate self-custody app built by the Based team, with backing from Pantera Capital, Coinbase Ventures, and Wintermute. It has a solid user base in the Polymarket community, though some traders dislike its extra 1% prediction fee. The main red flag is an October card-program data breach; Based said wallet funds and card details were not affected, but users reported phishing and spam afterward.

Midterms: was it the war, or the wallet?
Democrats are projected to win the House and Senate, and exit polls give two reads. 74% said the Iran war was a crucial or major factor, while about 90% said the same of cost of living.
Oil runs through both, with WTI up 39.6% since the war began.
History is part of the story too: the president's party has lost House seats in 18 of 20 postwar midterms.
WTIOIL-USDC on Based was $95.79 as of Nov 4, UTC. Exit polls are early figures, and results are network projections.

Amazon just reported its Q3 earnings.
AWS revenue surged 39% to $46B.
Amazon's operating margin hit a record 13.9%.
But strong growth didn't mean a strong market reaction.
EPS missed estimates at $1.89 vs. $1.96 expected. $AMZN dropped more than 6% after the close.
And the cloud race is bigger than Amazon.
$MSFT, $GOOGL, $ORCL, $NVDA, and $CRWV.
All competing in the cloud and AI ecosystem.
One race. Multiple players. Different takes.

Robinhood just posted its biggest quarter ever.
> $1.42B revenue, adjusted EPS beat, record trading volumes.
But crypto revenue fell 55% and revenue came in just shy of estimates.
> $HOOD fell as much as 8% after the report.
Same numbers. Different takes.

SK hynix just reported a record quarter!
$78.8B revenue, $62.8B operating profit, ~80% operating margin.
Seems like demand for AI memory is lifting memory stocks.
On Based in 24h:
$SKHYNIX +10.3%, $SAMSUNG +8.8%, $KIOXIA +15.0%.
Not just chips.
80 of 98 stocks on Based are green.
Is the KOSPI bottom in, or is this just a relief rally?
Either way, trade $SKHYNIX 24/7 on Based.

An update on the data incident announced on 8 October
We recognise that this incident has caused concern to many of our cardholders, and we sincerely regret the concern and inconvenience caused.
This update sets out the steps taken since our last announcement and the precautions that cardholders are advised to take.
What we have done since our last update
- We have filed a police report and are working with the police and the relevant authorities on their investigation.
- We have engaged independent security experts to carry out a security audit of our systems related to card services.
- We have paused new Based Visa Card signups until the independent security audit of our card services systems is complete.
- Requests to close accounts have been processed. Our operations and compliance team is handling the orderly withdrawal of funds for those accounts.
- We are strengthening our internal security controls and working towards recognised third-party security certifications.
Support for affected cardholders
We are finalising further support measures for affected cardholders, which will include identity monitoring services. Eligible cardholders will be contacted directly by email once the arrangements have been confirmed.
What has not changed
Based on our investigations to date:
- The Based Wallet, including perps trading and onchain swaps, was not affected and continues to work as normal.
- Card numbers, CVVs, PINs, ID photographs and liveness check images were not affected.
- Funds on your Based Visa Card are safe, and cards continue to work as normal. Cashback and rebates continue to accrue.
- Be careful of anyone who contacts you using your personal details
- We will never ask for your card number, PIN, CVV, passwords or seed phrase.
- Based Visa Card support is only available through the in-app support chat.
- Our team members will never DM you on Telegram or X about your account.
- Do not click links or sign wallet transactions from unsolicited messages.
- Our emails about this incident will direct you to check details in the app. They will never ask you to enter card details, payment information or passwords through a link.
Further updates will be shared with affected cardholders directly by email.
This update reflects our understanding as of today and may change as the investigation continues.- 12 reposts

An update on what we have been working on in the last few days.
The compliance and operations team has been replying to affected users. PDPC and relevant authorities has been informed, and a police report has been made. We are working closely with law enforcement on the card data breach incident.
Card operations continue working as per normal.
Our trading wallet and app is not affected by this. The wallet is self-custodial and we do not host the keys.
Social logins are managed by Privy. You can continue to trade with Based.
We've seen questions about an admin dashboard said to have leaked five months ago. That said “admin dashboard” is separate from our card operations and is not related to the card incident. It held no customer data. It was part of an early developer build of a managed OpenClaw product we prototyped in March 2026. We tested it with a small internal group, decided not to release it, and discontinued it shortly after.
Based has grown to where we are through various growth strategies. Hyperliquid lists a few example of frontends, but it’s ultimately the team’a responsibility to grow market share via their own means. We will continue to accelerate our growth via marketing in different channels.
For now our priority is to:
1. Continue to address and provide support for affected customers in data breach;
2. Further tightening security controls within team and enhancing monitoring;
3. Continue to build the best trading experience for our traders- 8 replies

We are sorry.
We know how much privacy matters to you, and how careful many of you are about who you share personal information with. You trusted us with yours. We should have held ourselves to a higher standard in protecting it. We understand and we are deeply sorry.
On 5 October 2026, a security alert led us to discover the incident, and we contained the attack immediately. By then, some user data had already been accessed by the attacker. We fixed the vulnerability and tightened our access controls.
The attacker tried to reach deposited funds but was unable to. Funds on the Based Visa Card remain safe and cards remain operational. Funds in the Based App wallet and Trading Terminal are also safe and were not affected.
After the attack, we reviewed our other systems and found no sign that they were compromised.
As soon as we made sure that all systems were thoroughly audited and extra security precautions were put in place, then we proceeded to disclose this incident to affected users. Cardholders who are affected have the right to know.
If you were affected, please be extra careful. Sophisticated actors may use this information to try to trick you.
For account queries, use the in-app support chat. It is the most secure way to reach us, and it lets us verify that you own the account. No one from the Based team will contact you on X or Telegram about your account.
We are committed to strengthening the security of our systems.
Once again, we are very sorry.- 41 replies

Based Visa Card: Security Incident Update
On 5 October 2026, we were alerted that an unauthorised party has gained access to an internal dashboard used to manage the Based Visa Card program. The attack was swiftly stopped and contained as soon as it was discovered.
KYC data collected by our card issuer for some cardholders, including name, ID or passport number, date of birth and address, may have been obtained by the attacker.
What was NOT affected:
- Card numbers, CVV and PIN
- Photographs of IDs and liveness check images
- Based Wallet, which was used for trading
- Funds on the Based Visa Card. Your funds are safe and Visa cards continue to work as normal.
Affected cardholders have been notified by email today, and relevant authorities have been informed.
What can you do next?
If you are one of the affected users, assume that the data is compromised. Be careful of impersonation attempts from anyone who possesses that information. Sophisticated attackers may use this information to perform social engineering attacks.
Also, support for Based Visa Card is only done on the in-app support chat, and no team members will DM you on Telegram or X for account servicing purposes. For security reasons, comments on this tweet is disabled on purpose.
We are sorry about this incident, and we are working closely with our card service provider to tighten access controls and enhance monitoring.- 21 reposts
